PRIVACY POLICY

Privacy Policy Last Updated: January 11, 2013

My Granite Care.com is committed to protecting your online privacy while providing you with the most useful and enjoyable Web experience possible. While you can use many features of MyGraniteCare.com anonymously, you may be required to provide personal information to gain access to some of our premium content and/or services.

Our goal is to provide you with a personalized Internet experience that delivers the information, resources, and services that are most relevant and helpful to you. This Privacy Policy will answer your questions regarding our privacy policies.

Why Do You Want To Know My Name, Address, And E-mail?

We only ask for your name, address, and/or e-mail address when you request a certain feature, product, or service from us. For example, we need to know where to ship your product or reach you for important follow ups.

Do You Sell My Information To Anyone?

Absolutely not!

How Do You Make Sure Nobody Steals My Credit Card Information?

My Granite Care does not process your payments directly. Instead, we contract this service out at no cost to you.

Your credit card number is sent in encrypted form to our credit card processor.

When you enter personal information online, that information is encrypted using a security protocol called SSL (Secure Sockets Layer), which encrypts all information prior to transmitting it over the Internet. Information is protected by SSL with an encryption key length of 168 bits (the highest level commercially available).

This means humans can not read it. It also means that if someone is intercepting your Internet traffic, the card number is scrambled. No one can read it except our credit card processing company.

We recently added "Google Checkout" for your convenience.

Your purchase information is encrypted during transmission with industry-standard SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) technology. For more information on Google Checkout, see Google Privacy & Security. (This opens in a new window. Just close it to come back here.)

We have been accepting credit cards online for more than 7 years.

Do You Collect Information From Children?

We do not knowingly collect information from children. If we learn that we have personal information on a child, we will delete that information from our system.

How Do You Collect Information About Me?

  • a. Information You Provide Us - Much of the personally identifiable information (your name, address, phone number, e-mail address, etc.) we receive comes directly from you. You will be asked to provide information when you make a purchase. You may also be asked to provide information when you participate in contests, promotional offers, or other interactive areas of our site.

  • b. Technology - We collect information through technology to ensure our site is working properly, administer the site, analyze trends, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use.

For example, when you come to our site, we may collect your IP address. An IP address is often associated with the portal through which you enter the Internet, like your Internet service provider or your company. In itself, your IP address is not personally identifiable information.

  • c. Cookies - Like other web sites, our Web site uses cookies. A cookie is a small text file that a Web site can place on your computer's hard drive. For example, cookies can be used to collect information about your activities on the site or to make it possible for you to use an online shopping cart to keep track of items you wish to purchase. The cookie transmits this information back to the Web site's computer which, generally speaking, is the only computer that can read it.

Many consumers do not know that cookies are being placed on their computers when they visit Web sites. If you want to know when this happens, or to prevent it from happening, you can set your browser to warn you when a Web site attempts to place a cookie on your computer. Each browser is a little different. Look at your browser's Help menu to learn the correct way to modify your cookies. If you turn cookies off, you may not have access to many features that make your Web experience easier.

How Do You Use My Information?

  • a. Information You Provide Us - We use the information provided from you to communicate with you about your registration and customization preferences, our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, supply products or services which you have requested, and other topics we think you might find of interest.

For example, we may use your information to complete transactions requested by you. Sometimes we hire companies to help deliver products or services, like a shipping company that delivers a package or a company that helps provides prizes for a contest. In those instances, there is a need to share your information with these companies.

If you purchase products or services from us, we'll note the type of services or products ordered or purchased, and the date of the order or purchase so we can follow up with you and /or the company that supplied or shipped the product.

  • Technology - We use this information to help us identify which areas of our site are of interest to you. We analyze the traffic patterns on our Web site, such as the frequency with which our guests visit various parts of our site. Aggregated information (information that does not personally identify you nor allow anyone to identify you individually) may be occasionally shared with our advertisers and business partners.

  • c. Cookies - We use cookies to allow you to use our services more easily. Cookies also help us keep track of statistical information which helps us improve our site.

Cookies allow us to save passwords and preferences for you so that you won't have to re enter them the next time you visit. They also keep track of items in your online shopping cart so you don't have to re enter them while you continue to shop.

As we continue to develop our business, we may sell, buy, merge, or partner with other companies or businesses. In such transactions, user information may be among the transferred assets. If we purchase a business, the personally identifiable information received with that business would be treated in accordance with this Privacy Policy, if it is practicable and permissible to do so.

If we sell a business, we will include provisions in the selling contract requiring the purchaser to treat your personally identifiable information in the same manner required by this Privacy Policy including any amendments to this Privacy Policy.
